1. Tata Nexon EV

The Tata Nexon EV SUV offers an ARAI certified range of 312 km on a single full charge. The car comes with a high-capacity 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and 129 PS permanent-magnet AC motor. The car also gets 35 mobile-based connected features. Such as remote command, vehicle tracking, driving behavior analysis, navigation and remote diagnostics.

Tata Nexon EV MAX gets a 40.5 kWh battery pack which gives a range of 437 km on a single charge. This is the best electric car under Rs 20 lakh.

2. Tigor EV

The 2021 Tata Tigor EV comes with an ARAI certified range of 306 km on a single charge. Whereas in real world conditions, this figure could be closer to around 250 kms. The model is equipped with a 26-kWh high energy density lithium-ion battery pack. It is charged up to 80 percent in about 8.5 hours via a regular 15A home socket.

It gets a 26kWh lithium-ion battery and has a claimed driving range of 306 km per charge. Its electric motor generates 75 hp and 170 Nm of torque. The current price of Tata Tigor EV is Rs. 11.99 lakhs ex-showroom.

3. Hyundai Kona Electric

It was the first long-range mass-market EV in India. The South Korean carmaker managed to sell 121 units of the Kona Electric in India in 2021. The Hyundai Kona Electric gets a 39.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, from which the motor can generate maximum power of 134 Bhp and peak torque of 395 Nm. As per the claims made by the manufacturer, the car will be capable of delivering a range of 452 kms on a single charge. The car will be equipped with six airbags. The cost of the car is around Rs 24 lakh.

4. MG ZS EV

Tata Motors’ closest competitor in the electric four-wheeler space is MG Motor. The ZS EV, MG’s only electric car in India, is the third best selling electric vehicle in India. MG sold 38 units of the ZS EV in February. However, the sales numbers have come down compared to February last year when the company sold around 90 units as compared to the previous month.

5. Mahindra eVerito

Mahindra & Mahindra is set to launch at least three new electric vehicles later this year. At the 2020 Auto Expo, the carmaker also showcased a few other EVs, including the eKUV100, which are yet to hit the markets. Nevertheless, Mahindra continues to be a dominant player in the electric four-wheeler segment in India. Currently, its electric sedan eVerito is at number four in the list of top five selling electric cars in India with 12 units sold last month.
