Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup River has launched its new electric scooter Indie. This new scooter has been made with a very unique design that gives a comfortable ride experience on bumpy roads. The River Indy is a premium offering and competes with the likes of the Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X and the Bajaj Chetak. The River Indy is oriented towards practicality and comes with segment-first features like crash guard and front set footpegs.
Design:
Talking about the design, the River Indie gets a strong front look as compared to other models available in the market. It gets dual front LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. It also gets a fully digital six-inch color instrument cluster, 20-inch footboard and LED taillights. It rides on 14-inch black alloy wheels. The front wheel gets a 240mm disc brake, while the rear gets a 200mm disc. For suspension, the scooter has been given telescopic setup at the front and twin hydraulic system at the rear.
Specification:
There is an impressive 55-litres of total space available in the Indy e-scooter, which includes 43 liters of boot space and 12 liters of glove box space. Along with this, you will get a strong powertrain in this scooter. In this, an electric motor with 6.7 kW power has been used along with a battery pack of 4 kWh capacity. Whereas on charging it can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 5 hours. The River Indy scooter competes with electric scooters like the Ather 450X, Ola S1 and the TVS iQube S that have a strong foothold in the Indian electric two-wheeler market. However, the River Indy is more useful than all these models. The design of River Electric Scooter is also quite unique. It looks like an SUV version of the electric scooter.
River Indie Range:
Regarding the range of this scooter, the company is claiming that once fully charged, this scooter gets a riding range of 120 kilometers (on eco mode) with a top speed of 90 kilometers per hour. In Indie e-scooter, the company has given three riding modes in which the first is Eco, the second is Ride and the third is Rush mode.
